I'm looking for an alternative to Yahoo! that offers shopping cart sign in and downloadable digital content for a store selling lectures on CD and download.

I was initially impressed with Volusion, but, after reading so many horrible reviews I am scared. What alternatives should i consider? Big Commerce looks good but seems to have the same bandwidth limits. Shopify also looks good but I would have to use a separate download service "fetch".

I understand that Volusion has all these problems but what's the alternative?

thanks

Hello Max,

Check out 3D Cart.

As for Volusion, ask to get access to their store owner's forum. There you can obtain a proper understanding of what Volusion is...and their respective problems.

If they don't grant you access...run quickly away.

I found ProductCart on Satuday and was very excited as it looked like it was an answer to my dropshipping issues. I reached a point that I got hung up on, and decided to look into something else.

I have been getting what appears to be spam sales orders and do not appreciate it. One came from them for sure. I turned the trial store off, but haven't completely canceled it. This in itself is enough to make me wary of their security.

I've been trying to start a trial on BigCommerce with no luck. I absolutely have not been able to pull up their trial. Should that be a red flag?

I'm trying Instantestore, I like their shipping module for dropshipping, but where's the support. I needed to ask a question, phone number in Malaysia? I don't think so.

I was about to try Volusion, until reading the comments on it. Which way do I go? Which way do I go?

I really need a good shopping cart that allows multiple warehouses and shipping methods, and also provides a real presence in CyberLand.

If anyone can suggest one, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Max,

You'll definintely want to check out BigCommerce by Interspire (http://www.bigcommerce.com) - it recently beat out Volusion, Network Solutions, GoDaddy, ProStores and others and was voted as the #1 e-commerce platform by Top10Reviews.com. They have a 15 day trial and just put out a new release with Google Website Optimizer integration - one of the many features you'll find in BigCommerce but not in Volusion.

Hope that helps!

Hey MattatVolusion,

Why don't you folks at Volusion open up your customer forum to the general public so that people can see for themselves your level of customer satisfaction?

Give BigCommerce by interspire a try, they offer a good hosted solution.

I tried bigcommerce recently. To many bugs (see their own forums). I would give CoreCommerce a try. Free 15 day trial w/o credit card. I am getting ready to commit shortly.

Bigcommerce by interspire would be the way to go. Have a look at "Top 10 Reviews" they have a good review of them.
